Biography

I was born on May 25, 1943 smack in the middle of WWII. My first eight years was spent with my family in a bungalow on Williamsburg Road in Sandston, VA near the Richmond Army Air Base, a training base for P-47 pilots. My earliest memories are of life in a small town that was really a functioning part of the military as many families in the community rented rooms to service men and their wives stationed at the air base. Post WWII was a simple and lovely time in Sandston; a Norman Rockwell small town of tree lined streets with white frame houses. A new car or someone getting a television created a wave of excitement, but it was also a time when great change was just beginning to occur. It is truly fascinating to look back as witnesses to the extraordinary changes that have taken place from that simple time to the present, and it is part of who I am today.

From the very beginning of my education reading and comprehending what I had read seemed to come easily and literature was always a passion. I also had the ability to make up tall tales on the fly and could enchant my friends by the hour with my make believe yarns. When I was in the third grade one of these friends told our teacher about my ability with off the cuff storytelling. She was intrigued and invited me to the front of the class to demonstrate this alleged gift to spin a yarn. I remember how she along with the rest of the class sat seemingly mesmerized as I rambled on with some tall tale of high adventure. My mother was especially excited when the teacher called that night to tell her about this unusual gift that I seemed to possess. She was excited because at that early age I had shown an aptitude for exactly nothing except reading and eating.

Unfortunately reading and comprehension proved to be one of my few early academic accomplishments. The simple truth is that if something didn't interest me I had little time for it, and that included much of what exasperated teachers were trying to pound into my head. After graduating near the bottom of my high school class I had a brief stint in the Army before enrolling in the old Richmond Professional Institute (now Virginia Commonwealth University) majoring in journalism. Unfortunately that would also prove to be brief as my financial situation made full time work a necessity.

For the next 40 years I worked in construction related sales and marketing. In 1979 I started my own manufactures rep agency that I ran until 1999 when I closed it to become the military sales manager for a Chicago based company. After a mild heart attack resulting in a coronary stent I decided to take early retirement and fulfill my passion to write. My first novel, The Great River Disclosureis is in the editing process and will be published by Brandylane Publishers in early 2009. My second novel, Satan's Angel will be completed by years end. Both are thrillers with much of the action taking place around and on the Chesapeake Bay that I know so well. In addition, my extensive travel with military sales has given me an in-depth knowledge of many areas around our great and beautiful country. Hopefully this knowledge will allow me to develop accurate plot scenes from many areas expanding the depth of my plot and characters.

I have been married to the same lovely lady for 41 years. Alice and I along with our two boys moved from Richmond to Heathsville in 1989. After both of the boys married we moved to Callao in 1999 and built our present home in Callao in 2004. Our oldest son, daughter in-law and five granddaughters live in New Braunfels, Texas just north of San Antonio. Our youngest son and grandson live near Heathsville.

The Great River Disclosure - Short Synopsis

The elegant Great River Resort nestled along the tranquil banks of the Great Wicomico River near the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia has earned the coveted 5 star rating, but the resort also has a closely guarded secret. The beautiful resort sits atop a highly classified government facility called the Chesapeake Emergency Command and Planning Center or CECPC. The existence of the classified complex is known only to the President of the United States, a limited few high level government and military leaders, and resort owner Bill Russell.

This secret facility will be the catalyst to place the resort at the center of the greatest story of the millennium, the disclosure of which will forever affect the lives of every man, woman and child on the planet. The story and its revelations are so earth shattering that a few will stop at nothing, including murder or the assassination of the president, to prevent disclosure.

Ted Carter, former Navy SEAL turned golf pro and now resort CEO, his fiancée Ruth Bennett and owner Russell find themselves in the cross hairs of a deadly confrontation between the White House and a few leaders of the military industrial complex. These corporate leaders, men of great wealth and power, are bent on stopping the president from the public disclosure of a 60 year old black project-a project that has grown into an above top secret shadow government.

Satan's Angel - Short Synopsis

Tragedy struck Pam Jarvis when the sixteen year old girl was raped by her brutal father. In a drunken rage the billionaire industrialist had strangled her mother to death before turning on his daughter. Fleeing the rape and murder her father moved to the east coast leaving her the house, money, servants and pregnant. For the next sixteen years the young girl lived a life of seclusion in their Honolulu mansion raising her mentally challenged daughter and fighting the demons of her past. When the father is killed in an attempt to assassinate the President of the United States Pam inherits his fortune and his twenty one high tech businesses.
Now 32 years old, the beautiful young woman and her daughter are staying in a Virginia resort while attorneys sort out her business interests. By chance Pam meets Matt Laveau the son of flamboyant TV Evangelist Luther Laveau. There is instant chemistry and within a few short months the couple is married at the Laveau Texas ranch.
The joy of her new life and that of her daughter and husband is soon threatened. Sinister officials running one of Jarvis's businesses involved in black government projects finds the removal of Pam from the business to be in their best interest. Using New Orleans mob boss Sonny Balboa these men attempt to have Pam and her family murdered. Working behind the scenes and unknown to Pam or Matt is a shadowy figure known as The Swimmer. He is a paid assassin and the only person who can prevent the murders.
The action races from the Great River Resort on Virginia's Northern Neck to the South Texas Planes and across the Pacific to Honolulu and Oahu. A killer tries to stop the murder of this young girl, her husband and her remarkable daughter, while he avenges the murder of a man with whom he shared the secret of his own life.
